DESCRIPTION

Benidipine belongs to a class of medicines called calcium channel blockers, which is primarily used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), renal parenchymal hypertension and angina-pectoris (chest pain). Hypertension (high blood pressure) is a lifelong or chronic condition in which the blood pressure against the artery walls becomes high. It promotes the relaxation of blood vessels which decreases blood pressure and strain on the heart.

INDICATION AND USAGE

Benidipine is a potent and long-lasting drug indicated for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, renal parenchymal hypertension and angina pectoris.

DOSAGE

The tablet is to be taken by mouth, with food.

Hypertension- 2-4 mg once daily, up to 8 mg once daily if needed.

Angina Pectoris- 4mg twice daily.

CONTRAINDICATION

Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any problems related to your kidneys, heart or liver. If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this medicine.
